Democracy in the Public Square: Muwatin's 23rd Annual Conference

This book comprises papers presented at Muwatin's 23rd Annual Conference. The papers and discussions in the conference touched upon many of these issues in depth. These discussions and their conclusions can be summarized as issues that need to be solved, and in need of joint political and academic work, in order to form the basis for a better life. The issues range from the status of democracy, its legitimacy, problems of hegemony, public peace, failure of the liberal model, misery of the neoliberal model, colonialism, neocolonialism, and the Palestinian national project, among others.
