Suha Jarrar’s Scholarship for Human Rights – Round One
Muwatin Institute for Democracy and Human Rights launches the first round of “Suha Jarrar’s Scholarship for Human Rights” or MA students in the Democracy and human Rights program.
Suha Jarrar is a feminist and rights activist; she worked as a researcher in Al-Haq Organization. Her research interests is focused on human rights and environmental justice. This scholarship comes in her honor and is a tribute to her soul; the scholarship is based on donations from her friends and loved ones.
The scholarship is divided into two components:
1) Covering tuition fees: this scholarship is intended to cover tuition fees for up to 30 credit hours over a period of no more than three academic years.
Requirements:
a. Applicant must be a student in the MA program for Democracy and Human Rights;
b. Applicant must have finished 6 credit hours;
c. Applicant should be interested in Human Rights and environmental rights, and is capable of writing research;
d. Applicants must have a serious financial need;
e. Applicant must have good academic record at least;
f. Applicant must be willing to work and volunteer in Palestinian organizations who work on human rights and environment issues after graduation;
g. Applicant must get at least a B+ in the semesters covered by the scholarship in order to keep it.

The scholarship committee will study the applications and make the decision.
2) Work and research scholarship at Muwatin Institute: The scholarship is for students who have demonstrated an interest in issues related to human rights and environmental justice and the challenges and obstacles associated with realizing the right to a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment. The scholarship is designed for students of the MA in Democracy and Human Rights.
Requirements:
a. Applicant must be a student in the MA program for Democracy and Human Rights;
b. Applicant must have finished at least 12 credit hours;
c. Applicant should be interested in Human Rights and environmental rights, and is capable of writing research;
d. Applicant must have very good academic record at least;
e. Applicant must be willing work full time at the institute;
The MA committee nominates students to Muwatin Council depending on the academic performance, and the student will be chosen accordingly.
