Palestinian politician, Member of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front (PPSF), university professor and researcher, He is currently Minister of Social Development,Previously served as minister of labour in the thirteenth Palestinian government. He was appointed by PA President Mahmoud Abbas. He also served as a minister without portfolio, in charge of the issues concerning the Wall, in the ninth Palestinian government between February 2005 and March 2006. He holds a PhD in political economy from the social sciences academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. He is a member of the Palestine National Council (PNC) and head of the Palestinian Economists Association. He worked as a lecturer of philosophy at Birzeit University.
