Associate Professor at the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences at Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates, and a researcher at muwatin Foundation, Palestinian Foundation for the Study of Democracy. She holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Manchester in Britain. She has served as Head of Communication Studies at Cedar Crest College in the United States and an Academic Scholar at the School of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research revolves around media and communication studies, cultural studies, analysis of political discourse, discourse of memory and identity, studies of social and linguistic interaction, and social research methodology.
