إن قدرة البشر على إحداث التغيير في حياتهم ومستقبلهم وفق تصورات وخطط ينتجونها، وينفذونها، بدون انتظار أفعال الطبيعة والارتهان لها، تشكل إحدى سمات بشريّتهم.
شهدت العقود الماضية تراجعاً في المشاركة السياسية من خلال الأحزاب، وتحولات في أشكال تنظيم المجتمع المدني. وقد تجلى هذا التغيير في أرجاء العالم، بما في ذلك في فلسطين.
